Puppy Application

Kinderwood Labradors
Health Warranty

While we realize that, even with the most thorough research and health testing, nothing with living creatures can be 100% guaranteed and a health issue can still be produced, we offer the following express warranty on all puppies and young adults of our own breeding. In all cases, we do not require the return of the puppy or dog as we realize that they likely have become a treasured member of your family. However, certain procedures must be followed to obtain any kind of refund or replacement and the warranty is only extended to the original owner(s) of the puppy or dog.

The breeders certify that both the sire and dam of this litter have been certified to be unaffected by hip and elbow dysplasia, heritable eye conditions, and genetic diseases by the appropriate veterinary authorities, and that, to the best of their knowledge, no other known hereditary health problems have been displayed in either parent or is known to be present in the grandparents.

Understanding that no 100% guarantees are possible in dealing with living creatures and that not all problems are totally genetically caused, the breeders, having in good conscience bred this litter from sound genetic stock, agree to the following:

If the puppy is diagnosed as having hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, inheritable eye condition, or genetic disease before age 30 months and the problem is severe enough to interfere with the puppy's ability to function as a pet, the breeders will, upon receipt of OFA, CERF, or other reputable organization (UMN-VDL, PennHip, Optigen, etc.) results and proof of spay or neuter surgery, offer a replacement puppy out of the next available litter of similar quality at a reduced cost to the buyer(s) or reimburse buyer(s) for up to $200. The buyer(s) may keep the original dog, bearing the expense of any necessary treatment, or the breeders will assist in placing the puppy in another home if possible, or puppy may be returned to the breeders along with all registration materials. Hip & elbow warranty will be void if puppy has been subjected to excessive physical stress or unapproved diet prior to 12 months of age, and/or is poorly conditioned, injured, sold or bred without the breeders' written permission.

In all cases, the breeders retain the express right to obtain, at their own expense, a second opinion by a liscensed veterinarian of their choosing as well as have any and all documents resubmitted to the appropriate veterinary authorities (OFA, CERF, etc.) for a second opinion. The buyer(s) is responsible for supplying any and all materials the breeders may request to help their veterinarian form an opinion.
